Cost of Living
As your next State Representative, I understand how hard it’s become for working families to make ends meet. From rising grocery bills and childcare costs to unaffordable housing and healthcare, too many people are being priced out of the communities they helped build. I know these challenges firsthand—as a father, and small business owner—and I’m determined to make Michigan a place where families can get ahead, not just get by.
Lowering Everyday Costs: I will advocate for lowering the costs of housing, childcare, healthcare, and prescription drugs while ensuring education remains within reach for every family.
Holding Corporations Accountable: I will fight to stop price gouging and unchecked profits that drive inflation, ensuring fairness for consumers and workers alike.
Common-Sense Decision-Making: Every vote I take will come down to one question—does this make life more affordable for Michigan families?
Housing and Homeownership
Housing is the cornerstone of strong communities. Yet, too many Michiganders are being priced out of their neighborhoods or can’t find a safe place to live. I will advocate for solutions that expand affordable housing, protect homeowners, and make homeownership attainable again.
More Affordable Housing: I will champion cutting red tape and incentivizing new developments that are actually affordable, near jobs, transit, and schools.
Protecting Homeowners: I will fight for seniors, veterans, and first-time buyers while tackling predatory lending and rising property taxes.
Smart Growth: I will advocate for housing development that aligns with local infrastructure, preserves community character, and prevents displacement.
Rent is Too Darn High: I will fight against the predatory practices of corporations and seek positive solutions like social housing and ensuring a renter’s bill of rights.
Manufactured Housing Protection: Manufactured Housing is the only form of housing tat is not regulated. This allows for poor condition and more predatory practices that harm residents. We need common sense reform and common sense protections for everyone living in Manufactured Housing.
Affordable, Accessible Healthcare
Healthcare is a basic human right. No one should have to choose between paying their bills or seeing a doctor. I will advocate for lowering costs, expanding access, and protecting essential care for every Michigander. At the heart of our democracy is a promise: that we look out for one another, that we lift each other up. And nowhere is this promise more critical than in the realm of community mental health. It’s more than a policy issue; it's a fundamental reflection of our values, of who we are as a people. Our counties have a profound responsibility to ensure that mental health services are not luxuries for the few but fundamental rights for all.
Lowering Costs: I will fight to cap the price of life-saving drugs, increase transparency, and create a public option for affordable coverage.
Protecting Care: I will advocate for defending Medicare, Medicaid, bodily autonomy healthcare, and rural hospital access.
Expanding Access: I will champion mental health services, mobile clinics, and telehealth options to reach rural and underserved communities.
Investing in Mental Health is Investing in Our Future: By focusing on mental health, we create a stronger, healthier community for generations to come.
Fighting for Veterans and Residents with Disabilities
Raising awareness about the issues facing veterans and residents with disabilities is a top priority of mine and is very personal to our family. Our veterans fought for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and it is our turn to fight for them. Accessibility to public spaces, buildings, and other facilities is not a privilege, but a right that should be guaranteed for all people. We need to fight for those who fought for us and ensure everyone has access to participate in our community.

Accessibility for All: Committing to a county that is fully accessible, where residents with disabilities can thrive.

Safe and Thriving Communities
Every resident deserves to live without fear. True safety comes from prevention, community investment, and trust between people and those sworn to protect them.
Community-Based Safety: I will fight to expand crisis response units, behavioral health support, and addiction recovery services.
Fighting the Fentanyl Crisis (and the next one): I will advocate for collaboration among federal, state, and local agencies to intercept trafficking and fund prevention programs.
Safer Streets and Schools: I will champion better road design, lighting, and crosswalks while supporting youth safety and prevention programs.
Community Violence Intervention (CVI)
We cannot police our way out of every problem. Real safety begins with prevention and opportunity. I will advocate for community violence intervention programs that address root causes of violence and offer a path toward healing and hope.
Invest in Prevention: I will fight for funding credible messengers, hospital-based programs, and youth outreach efforts that de-escalate conflicts.
Wraparound Support: I will champion pairing violence prevention with trauma counseling, education, and workforce development opportunities.
Community-Led Solutions: I will advocate for partnerships among local organizations, faith leaders, and schools to build trust and reduce violence.
Measure What Works: I will fight to ensure transparency and reinvestment in strategies proven to save lives.
Gun Safety Reform
Gun violence is now the leading cause of death for children in America. I will advocate for common-sense gun laws that protect our communities while respecting responsible gun ownership.
Universal Background Checks: I will champion closing loopholes and requiring background checks for all firearm sales.
Red Flag Protection: I will advocate to protect policies that allow temporary firearm removal when someone poses a risk to themselves or others.
Safe Storage: I will continue to fight to promote gun safety education, free lock distribution, and enforce secure storage laws.
Preventing Violence: I will advocate to increasing funding for community-based prevention.
Police and Justice Reform
Public safety and justice must go hand-in-hand. I will advocate for reforms that support good officers, hold bad actors accountable, and ensure fairness in every Michigan community.
Accountability and Standards: I will fight to establish statewide standards on use of force, de-escalation, and data transparency.
Smart Justice: I will advocate for expanding diversion programs, mental health courts, and alternatives to incarceration.
Equal Treatment: I will fight to end cash bail for low-level offenses and ensure justice is not determined by income.
Re-entry and Redemption: I will champion stronger re-entry programs to help returning citizens rebuild and contribute to society.
Workers, Wages, and Opportunity
Michigan built the middle class—and it’s time to rebuild it. I will fight for policies that strengthen worker rights, raise wages, and expand opportunity for all.
Raising Wages: I will champion efforts to raise the minimum wage, ensure wage equity, and end wage theft.
Empowering Workers: I will advocate for protecting union rights, collective bargaining, and banning exploitative contracts.
Building the Workforce: I will fight to expand apprenticeships and training for jobs in clean energy, technology, and manufacturing.
Education and the Future
Our public schools are the foundation of opportunity. I will advocate for strong, well-funded schools, affordable higher education, and career pathways that prepare students for the future.
Investing in Teachers: I will fight to raise teacher pay, modernize classrooms, and provide resources for success.
Affordable Pathways: I will champion affordable college and trade programs for working families.
Career Readiness: I will advocate for partnerships between schools, unions, and businesses to connect learning with real careers.
Investing in Kids and Families
Strong families are the heart of strong communities. I will advocate for policies that ensure every child has the opportunity to grow up healthy, safe, and supported.
Protecting Children’s Health: I will fight to eliminate lead exposure, expand pediatric care, and protect youth mental health.
Supporting Parents: I will advocate for expanding childcare, parental leave, and flexible work programs.
Lifting Families from Poverty: I will champion access to nutrition, housing, and education programs that lift families up.
Environmental Justice and Clean Water
Protecting Michigan’s natural resources isn’t optional—it’s essential. I will advocate for policies that ensure clean air, safe water, and a sustainable future.
Protecting the Great Lakes: I will fight to enforce environmental protections and modernize water systems.
Building Michigan’s Green Economy: I will champion clean-energy manufacturing and union jobs that drive growth.
Environmental Equity: I will advocate for prioritizing pollution cleanup and investment in historically neglected areas.
Civil Rights and Voting Rights
Democracy only works when everyone can participate freely and equally. I will advocate for policies that protect our fundamental rights and ensure fairness under the law.
Michigan Voting Rights Act: We need this in place considering the reality of the Federal VRA.
Protecting Democracy: I will fight to expand early voting, automatic registration, and election integrity.
Defending Freedoms: I will advocate for reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ protections, and privacy laws.
Equal Justice: I will champion fair policing and equal treatment for all Michiganders.
